Love the title of this book... really gets to the pointy end of the point :). I'm going to give it a go, I just ordered loads of books from Nile on ebay... cheap, good service and quick. I shall add this one to my list. Thanks

Yes it certainly is a long list, but it would only take a few more minutes of searching online to probably double it! So much to learn, and its usually from 15 year old kids! The great thing about these tutorials is that you can pick and choose where, and when you will view them, and maybe one night choose not to do the True Blood marathon, but instead learn how to get a Bleach Bypass look in Final Cut!

If you need tutorials on a range of creative software, I can recommend visiting www.creativecow.com. They have a massive range of tutorials, forums, and training DVD's avaiable.

it is incredibly encouraging. What I like the most is that this takes away all the superficcial barriers to making the film, and leaves just the most important aspect as the differentiator.. the story! Now that we do not need to be obsessed with getting that 'film look' by ingenious uses of lens adaptors, post production grading, etc, we can just focus on the important aspects that will make the finished product engaging to the audience.

For me, the most important aspect of volunteering has been the networking opportunities it provides. From each role I have taken it has provided at least 3 more contacts, many of which have gone on to provide more work or advice on how to get more work.

If you do a good job people will remember, and want to use you again. Now you have gained the skills to do that role and have a proven track record of course you can begin to put more of a value on your time and charge appropriately.
